meet our pastor

Don and Lisa Hannel have enjoyed 38 years of marriage and over 25 years in ministry together. Don has served as the lead pastor of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill Illinois for the last 19 years. Lisa has spent many years in education and is currently principal at Brown County Elementary school. Don and Lisa moved to Mount Sterling in April 2023. They have quickly grown to love their community and the people of Brown county. Their hearts desire is to reach the people of Brown County with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They feel an overwhelming calling from the Lord to plant a new church in Mount Sterling.
